Biden says of Trump: ‘We gotta lock him up … politically’

US President Joe Biden told New Hampshire Democrats today that "we gotta lock him up", referring to former president Donald Trump, before quickly adding, "politically lock him up". The president was co-opting a 2016 Trump campaign line that referred to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton - rhetoric that this year's nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, has discouraged on the campaign trail. Describing some of Trump's plans for a second term, Biden said, "I know this sounds bizarre – it sounds like if I said this five years ago, you'd lock me up. We gotta lock him up." Rudy Giuliani must give control of luxury items and Manhattan apartment to Georgia election workers he defamed, judge rules

A US federal judge has ordered former Donald Trump attorney and New York mayor Rudy Giuliani to turn over all his valuable possessions and his Manhattan penthouse apartment to the control of Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the Georgia election workers he defamed and to whom he now owes $US150 million ($224 million). Judge Lewis Liman of the federal court in Manhattan said Giuliani must turn over his interest in the property to the women in seven days, to a receivership they will control. The judge's turnover order of the luxury items is swift and simple, but the penthouse apartment will have its control transferred so Freeman and Moss can sell it, potentially for millions of dollars. Trump’s former chief of staff says he fits ‘fascist’ definition and prefers ‘dictator approach’

John Kelly, the retired Marine general who was Donald Trump's White House chief of staff, told The New York Times that the former president fits "into the general definition of fascist" and "certainly prefers the dictator approach to government." The newspaper reported on Tuesday that in a recorded interview, Kelly was asked whether the former president met the definition of a fascist and responded by reading aloud a definition he'd found online.
