The Federal Aviation Authority banned US commercial flights in Venezuela airspace over "ongoing military activity" ahead of explosions in Caracas, which began about 1.50am on Saturday (5.50pm AEDT). "One was so strong, my window was shaking after it," CNN correspondent Osmary Hernandez said. People in various neighbourhoods rushed to the streets. Trump says he takes a higher daily dose of aspirin than his doctors advise in lengthy interview on his health

US President Donald Trump told The Wall Street Journal in an interview that he takes a higher dose of aspirin than his doctors have recommended, blaming that for the visible hand bruises that have generated renewed questions about his health. "They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don't want thick blood pouring through my heart," Trump, 79, said of why he takes a larger dose. "I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?" Trump has long had bruising on his right hand, which CNN has reported predated his return to the White House. Britain's Queen Camilla has spoken publicly for the first time about her personal experience of indecent assault, saying that speaking out was one way she could use her royal platform to shine a light on the epidemic of violence against women. King Charles III calls for kindness and unity in Christmas message amid global conflicts

On a Christmas Day when the war in Ukraine casts a shadow over Europe, concerns over immigration divide societies, and some politicians fan anger and resentment, King Charles III called on people to focus on kindness instead of conflict. Delivering his annual holiday address from Westminster Abbey, Charles said on Thursday the Christmas story of wise men and shepherds traveling through the night to find their saviour shows how we can find strength in the "companionship and kindness of others." Public release of Epstein records puts Maxwell under fresh scrutiny amid her claims of innocence

Days after Ghislaine Maxwell asked a judge to immediately free her from a 20-year prison sentence, the public release of grand jury transcripts from her sex trafficking case returned the spotlight to victims whose allegations helped land her behind bars. The disclosure of the transcripts as part of the Justice Department’s ongoing release of its investigative files on Maxwell and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein exposed how an FBI agent told grand jurors about Maxwell's critical role in Epstein’s decades-long sexual abuse of girls and young women. Maxwell, a British socialite and publishing heir, was convicted of sex trafficking in December 2021 after four women told a federal jury in New York City about how she and Epstein abused them in the 1990s and early 2000s. ...
