LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - SOLE Stepping, a nonprofit organization that provides new shoes and socks to elementary school students, is making a difference in childrens’ lives one sole at a time. RICHMOND, Va. -- A special Christmas gift for more than 100 people in our community who are trying to get their lives back on track. "Today we'll put 130 pairs of shoes on the men and women here at Caritas," Robin Telfian said. "We basically set up mini shoe stores." Six-year-old twin sisters, Lilly and Lilah Terrill of Vian, recently raised around $1,300 to purchase over 60 pair of new shoes for each first grade student at Vian Elementary. Lilly and Lilah attend first grade at Vian Elementary and their mother, Leigha Terrill, said one September morning one of the girls made a comment that one of their classmates was wearing the same shoes to school every day. “I remember telling the girls that sometimes mommas struggle, Hey Dudes and sometimes one pair of shoes is all she can get for her kids,” Terrill said, on having a heart-to-heart discussion with the girls. “But at the end of the day, Manuel (the girls’ father) and I just want our children to always remember to be kind.
