Human bones in car matched to US man missing since 1976

Human bones found inside a submerged car near two US state lines in 2021 have been matched to a college student who had been missing for 47 years, according to a Georgia sheriff. Kyle Clinkscales, 22, of LaGrange, in Georgia, vanished in January 1976 after leaving the Georgia club where he worked as a bartender to return to school at Auburn University in neighboring Alabama. Investigators got a break in the cold case in December 2021, when someone spotted a car in a murky Alabama creek. A baby girl who was born under the rubble of her family’s earthquake-shattered home has left the hospital and gone to her new home, where she will live with her paternal aunt’s family. The girl had been at the hospital since hours after the February 6 earthquake. She was discharged Saturday and her aunt and uncle adopted her and gave her a new name, Afraa, after her late mother. Afraa's mother died in the quake along with her father and four siblings.
