Six missing workers ‘presumed dead’ and search cancelled after Baltimore bridge disaster

All six workers missing in the aftermath of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore are now presumed dead, with the search for them called off. The collapse occurred after a massive container ship lost power early Tuesday and crashed into the bridge, sending people and vehicles into the frigid river, officials said. Two people were pulled from the ensuing wreckage alive. A day later a body was found and the search continued for six more. They are now all presumed dead. Donald Trump unable to make $707 million bond in civil fraud case, his lawyers tell court

An insurance broker, Gary Giulietti, who testified for Trump during the civil fraud trial, signed an affidavit stating that securing a bond in the full amount "is a practical impossibility." Potential underwriters are seeking cash to back the bond, not properties, according to Trump's lawyers. Trump's lawyers have asked the appeals court to delay posting the bond until his appeal of the case is over, arguing that the value of Trump's properties far exceed the judgment. If the appeals court rules against him, Trump asked the court to delay his posting the bond until his appeal to New York's highest court is heard. Last month, Trump was ordered to pay $541 million in disgorgement, or "ill-gotten gains," by New York Judge Arthur Engoron in a civil fraud case brought by New York...

Elon Musk details prescription ketamine use in axed interview

Elon Musk said he is "almost always" sober during his late-night — or, in some cases, very early morning — posting sessions on his social media platform, X. The billionaire Tesla CEO's comment was made in an interview with journalist Don Lemon, during which Musk discussed his use of the medication ketamine. Musk, who is known for his often erratic behaviour, has faced scrutiny following recent reports about his alleged drug use and the potential impact on his companies. Elon Musk was asked about smoking cannabis on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' and his ketamine prescription. (The Don Lemon Show) "There are times when I have sort of a … negative chemical state in my brain, like depression I guess, or depression that's not linked to any negative news, and ketamine is hel...

New study finds no brain injuries among ‘Havana syndrome’ patients

An array of advanced tests found no brain injuries or degeneration among US diplomats and other government employees who suffer mysterious health problems once dubbed "Havana syndrome, " researchers reported today. The National Institutes of Health's nearly five-year study offers no explanation for symptoms including headaches, balance problems and difficulties with thinking and sleep that were first reported in Cuba in 2016 and later by hundreds of American personnel in multiple countries. But it did contradict some earlier findings that raised the spectre of brain injuries in people experiencing what the State Department now calls "anomalous health incidents." Hungarian leader says Donald Trump will end the war in Ukraine by not giving ‘a penny’

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said Donald Trump would effectively end the war in Ukraine by cutting off funding to Kyiv, should the former United States president return to power in November. "He (Trump) has a very clear vision," Orban said in an interview to Hungarian broadcaster M1 broadcast on Sunday. "He says the following: first, he will not give a single penny for the Russo-Ukrainian war. That's why the war will end, because it's obvious that Ukraine cannot stand on its own two feet." Boeing whistleblower who raised safety concerns found dead

A former Boeing manager who raised safety questions about the American aircraft maker has been found dead outside a hotel in South Carolina, according to local authorities. The body of John Barnett, 62, was found last Saturday in a car outside a Holiday Inn, suffering from what the Charleston County Coroner's Office said appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Louisiana resident was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said detectives were waiting for a formal determination of the cause of death and "any additional findings that might shed further light on the circumstances surrounding" the end of Barnett's life. Police noted "the global attention this case has garnered." US authorities have reported the death of former Boeing manager and whistleblower John Barn...
