Over 800 pairs of shoes coming to those in need this holiday season

What began as a youth mission project for a local Albany church to collect 200 pairs of shoes for those in need, has grown to over 800 pairs of shoes and counting. The Youth Ministry Pastor at Move Christian Church, Dalton Smith, explained that they have received more shoes than they ever thought they would have, from little feet to big feet. The idea for this show collection came after a member went to Mexico for vacation and saw so many children running around without shoes on and realized the great need it was and came back home with a mission to change that problem. World Athletics approves new rules and regulations for shoes in competition

It was announced today that World Athletics has approved new shoe rules and regulations for competition. The new rules have brought a major update to the future of the sport, as athletes will not be allowed to wear shoes that have over a 20mm stack height Hoka Shoes  during competition. This rule is set to be implemented in November 2024, which is after the Paris Summer Olympics and the 2024 Diamond League season. The previous rule was 20mm stack height for sprint and hurdle events up to 400m and 25mm for events 800m and above. (AP) — Another 21 NFL players were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, including Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, cornerback Rashad Fenton and tight end Blake Bell. They were among nine players, including two on the practice squad, who joined tight end Travis Kelce and kicker Harrison Butker on Kansas City's growing list. By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Basketball Writer NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Tuesday that there are no plans to pause the season, even as numbers of players entering the league's health and safety protocols related to the coronavirus continues to rise. Silver, in an interview with ESPN, said the league has examined multiple options but does not yet see a reason to stop play.
