‘It’s not safe’: Police block off Auckland’s Albert Park over ‘concerning comments’
Police say the incident in anĀ AucklandĀ park where a person made "made a number of concerning comments" has been resolved.
This comes after police evacuated Albert Park and all the streets immediately surrounding the park as a precaution on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson said one person had been taken into custody, and charges were being considered.
They said all the cordons had been lifted and there was no ongoing risk to the public.
At least five police cars could be seen blocking one of the roads near Albert Park at about 1.10 pm on Wednesday.
Armed police were also at the scene.
A university student asked an officer what the threat was.
"It's not safe," he said.
"That's why I've got a gun."
