Passengers in upside-down crash landing offered $46,000 each

Delta Air Lines is offering US$30,000 ($46,847) to the passengers involved in a flight that crashed, turned upside down, and caught fire at Toronto Airport earlier this week, an airline spokesperson told CNN. "Delta Care Team representatives are telling customers this gesture has no strings attached and does not affect rights," said Morgan Durrant, a spokesperson for the airline. If all 76 passengers involved took the money, it would add up to a little over US$2.2 million ($3.44 million). The passenger plane ended up upside down. Popular UK city to tax tourists for overnight stays

Local politicians in Edinburgh have approved a tourist tax for visitors staying overnight the Scottish capital, introducing the first charge of its kind in the United Kingdom. From mid-2026, visitors staying in certain types of accommodation, such a hotel, bed and breakfast, hostel, self-catering apartment or guest house, will be charged a fee of five per cent of their accommodation cost per night. Twelve people injured as Qatar Airways plane hits turbulence on flight to Dublin

Twelve people have been injured, including eight taken to hospital, as a Qatar Airways plane flying from Doha to Dublin hit turbulence, airport authorities say. Dublin Airport said in a statement that flight QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed safely as scheduled before 1pm on Sunday (10pm AEST). The airport said upon landing the aircraft was met by emergency services, including airport police and the fire and rescue department, "due to six passengers and six crew … reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey".
