EU pledges to loan Ukraine up to $57 billion to help rebuild its economy and power grid

The European Union pledged on Friday to lend Ukraine up to €35 billion ($57 billion) as part of a loan package organised by the Group of Seven (G7) major industrial nations, as it seeks to help the country rebuild its economy and its war-shattered power grid. G7 leaders agreed in June to engineer a $US50 billion ($73.5 billion) loan to help Ukraine in its fight for survival. Interest earned on profits from Russia's frozen central bank assets would be used as collateral, but progress in distributing the loans has been slow. Boeing factory workers go on strike after rejecting contract offer

Aircraft assembly workers went on strike on Friday at Boeing factories in Washington, Oregon and California after union members overwhelmingly rejected a tentative contract that would have increased wages by 25 per cent over four years. The work stoppage involving 33,000 machinists will not disrupt commercial flights immediately but was expected to shut down production of Boeing's best-selling airliners, presenting another setback for a company already dealing with a damaged reputation and financial losses. Boeing stock was down 2.2per cent in morning trading, bringing its loss for the year so far to 38.9 per cent. The Italian coast guard said the body of British tech magnate Mike Lynch is among those recovered off the coast of Sicily from the wreckage of a superyacht whose builders had called unsinkable. One woman remains missing. She has not been identified, but Hannah Lynch, Lynch's 18-year-old daughter, is reportedly unaccounted for. The family had been celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges with the people who defended him at trial in the United States. Five others were recovered by rescue crews following Monday's tragedy. Tesla is recalling the Cybertruck again, this time because a piece can fly off

Tesla is recalling the Cybertruck again, this time because a piece can fly off

Tesla has issued two recalls on the Cybertruck, its third and fourth, since the model was introduced late last year. Currently, the Tesla Cybertruck is only sold in North America, as the region has less stringent design standards than Europe and Australia. The latest recall, which includes almost all of the nearly 12,000 trucks on the road so far, involves the truck's huge single windshield wiper and a piece of plastic trim along the edge of the truck bed. A piece of black plastic trim that runs along the edge of the truck's angled bed wall can come loose and may detach from the vehicle while it's being driven. "If the applique separates from the vehicle while in drive, it could create a road hazard for following motorists and increase their risk of injury or a ...
