The Denver Nuggets lost yet another player to injury, and this one might be season-ending.
Guard P.J. Dozier injured his left knee in Tuesday night’s 119-100 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Nuggets confirmed Dozier tore his ACL and will be out indefinitely. Skechers Womens Outlet That leaves the Nuggets in desperate need of healthy players.
Dozier injured his knee while attempting a layup with under a minute left in the first quarter. He tried to reach up over Cody Zeller to sink the basket, but was denied and landed awkwardly while coming down.
The video shows that Dozier’s legs got a little mixed up with one of Zeller’s legs on his way back down to the floor. Dozier crumpled to the ground immediately, holding his left knee and appearing to be in a lot of pain.
Nuggets decimated by injuries
This is the last thing the Nuggets need right now. The season isn’t even 20 games old, but they’re already struggling with significant injuries. MVP Nikola Jokic has been out for the last three games with a sprained wrist and it’s possible he could miss more time. Hey Dude Shoes Michael Porter Jr. has missed the last nine games and reportedly has a nerve issue in his back that could require season-ending surgery.
On top of that, Jamal Murray has been out since tearing his ACL in April. While Murray provided a positive update on his knee recently, saying on Instagram “I can’t hoop yet, but I feel great,” he’s still months away from getting back into a game.
The Nuggets haven’t been able to overcome those injuries as they’ve piled up. After starting the season 9-4, they’ve lost five straight games and are now 9-9. They face the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.
